ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END (at least for now. . . )
Low Hanging Fruit closes after a passionate run at Z Below
How did the month of July go by so fast? Robin Bradford’s LOW HANGING FRUIT closed before a packed house on Saturday night with well-deserved standing ovations and flowers. Many congratulations to our outstanding cast (Cat Brooks, Livia Demarchi, Heather Gordon, Julian Green, Cheri Lynne VandenHeuvel, Jessica Waldman & Jeff Wincek) and creative team (Zach Kopciak, Jeff Wincek, Spiraleena Mason, Robin Bradford, Brendan Lee, Renae Davis, Mike Martinez, Nate Harris & Christina Hogan) for putting up a superb production that brought tears and laughter to audiences at every performance. Endless thanks to our production sponsors Nonie Greene and Todd Werby, who made it possible to bring this powerful work to San Francisco. The final show was dedicated to our brilliant director Louis Parnell, missing in action while he recovers from a recent injury. We love you, Louis!
3GT is so grateful to everyone who joined us for — and let us know how much they were moved by — our production. The play itself is a compelling fiction, but the underlying issues illuminated by the playwright are very real. Our set at Z Below may be struck, but right across the street from the theater all of us confronted the reality of a homeless encampment every day. The heroic work of our community partners for the month will continue long after the curtain falls, and we hope you will support them all: North Beach Citizens, Compass Family Services, San Francisco Suicide Prevention and Coalition on Homelessness.
If you missed the play, keep your eyes open for future productions in other cities across the country. And 3GT will be back at Z Below from November 17- December 18 with the world premiere of ENTANGLEMENT, AJ Baker’s “play about a play about the quantum mechanics of love.” Mark your calendars now!
