Fanny is a celebrated writer who has come home to a small town in Georgia to hide after a tragic accident has ended her writing career in New York City. Mama is more than happy to overwhelm Fanny with love and advice, but  when Tom, a handsome stranger comes along, followed by former girlfriend, Deanna, changes are in store for all four.

Set in 1938, this sepia drama answers the questions of how who, what, why, and when writers write, and the unexpected and often comic effects their work can have on their relationships.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT
3GT Resident Playwright and Co-founder Lee Brady is the consummate theatre professional whose resume could take up 10 pages on its own: for nearly fifty years she’s been writing, acting, teaching, producing, and directing. . . . but she considers herself to be first and foremost, a playwright. Lee is a resident playwright/literary director for the Fearless Minds Production Company in Carmel Valley, California (their first annual Playwrights Festival was held in February 2011); a founder of Fresh New Works in San Francisco; an Adjunct Professor at Monterey Peninsula College; a Theatre Critic for the Pacific Sun Newspaper and has reviewed for the Scotsman in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her work has been produced in Edinburgh, Scotland and San Jose, Costa Rica, as well as in regional theatre in the Midwest, South, Southwest and several California cities. Among many others, she has won awards for her plays HOME FROM THE WEDDING and SOUTHERN LIGHTS. In 2011 alone, a collection of her plays, BRADY’S SHORTS, was produced in a sold-out production at the Cherry Center for the Arts, Carmel, California and her short play JANICE & SHELLEY & JO was produced by 3GT at the SF Fringe Festival. Her double-bill SOUTHERN EXPOSURE was staged at the Cherry Center in Carmel in 2011, as well as at SF Playhouse in January 2012 as a co-production of 3GT and the Dramatists’ Guild. In 2012, her one-person musical drama WHAT ABOUT BEN? (previously a recipient of an International Playwrighting Award in Costa Rica) and was seen in an all-new production at 3GT’s inaugural Celebration Of Women’s History Month. In December 2011, Lee was honored for her achievements as a “Remarkable Woman” of the theatre in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Monterey’s “REMARKABLE WOMEN SERIES.”
