2018 Brady Fellows
We are thrilled to announce that for the first time, 3GT is opening up our core development program to members of the Bay Area theater community! For the 2018-2019 Season, we will be selecting a few outstanding women playwrights to participate in the Salon Reading Series as our inaugural Brady Fellows. The Brady Fellows program is named in honor of our inspiring and beloved co-founder Lee Brady, an unstoppable force for women’s work onstage for over 50 years. We’ll be looking for Brady Fellows who exemplify the dedication to the craft– and the love of all things theatre!– that Lee brings to making plays.
BENEFITS
A staged reading in the 2018-2019 Salon Reading Series. 3GT pays all the costs for the reading ( including director, cast, performance venue and a small writer’s stipend), promotes the work to our supporters and social media, and runs all logistics.
The assistance of a 3GT-provided dramaturg who will offer one-on-one script pre-reading development input and lead the post-reading discussion
Eligibility for selection as one of two Finalists (to be re-staged at the annual New Works Festival), with the opportunity to win our Festival Prize: a full development lab, and 3GT’s support for finding production. Three of our last four Festival Prize winners have been fully produced, and the fourth is scheduled for production in 2019.
Exclusive opportunities for creative growth, such as “3GT Invites. . . .”, our intimate dinners for 3GT playwrights and guest theater artists. For example, last year “the country’s most produced playwright,” Lauren Gunderson, joined us for dinner and a wide-ranging conversation about the challenges of readying a script for production.
