The Arentz sisters–polar opposite twins Elinor and Beth, and attention-starved Layne–reunite for their childhood friend Jess’s wake. While Beth crusades to halt the imminent demolition of an historic hotel in town where, as children, she and Elinor found an abandoned Jess and both witnessed something that created a gulf between them, Elinor opens up her home to an unexpected guest whose presence forces the women to confront the fallibility of memory, the possibility of the extraordinary, and examine what it means to embrace the past, or to let it go, when it comes to family, love and sacrifice.
