3GT develops work by emerging women playwrights “in their prime” through our Brady Fellows Program
Are you a Bay Area woman theatre-maker over 40? Are you an accomplished emerging playwright whose development opportunities have been frustrated because “emerging” so often translates to “twenty-something” in the eyes of theater producers? If so, 3GirlsTheatre invites you to apply to be a Brady Fellow through our legacy development program, the Salon Reading Series. The Brady Fellow Program offers artistic support, commitment and community to women theatre-makers in their prime who share our passion for bringing stories told by women to the stage.
Each Brady Fellow works with a 3GT-provided dramaturg to put up a staged reading of her play as part of the Salon Series. The play can be revised and submitted for additional development which could include workshops, Festival readings, a full development lab, and 3GT’s support for finding production. Brady Fellows join our 3GT community of women playwrights, artistic staff and audiences that emphatically champion women dramatists who took a nontraditional path to professional theatre-making. 3GT strives to be an artistic home for all of our Company members, promoting and supporting their work wherever it appears.
Applications are accepted annually from March 1-April 30 for the reading season beginning the following October. For more information on the process, we invite you to email our Literary Director & Resident Dramaturg, Pamela Holling (pamela@3girlstheatre.org).
