LOW HANGING FRUIT OPENING NIGHT ROCKED!
Between the stellar performance and the wonderful after-party, it was a night to remember.
On Friday night, a packed house at Z Below was enthralled by opening night of 3GT resident playwright Robin Bradford’s remarkable play, LOW HANGING FRUIT. Under the brilliant direction of Louis Parnell, actors Jessica Waldman, Julian Green, Livia Demarchi, Heather Gordon*, Cheri VandenHeuvel* and Cat Brooks delivered a spellbinding performance. We got this note from an appreciative audience member the next day: ” I don’t usually gush about the plays I see but this is a deserved exception. . . funny, moving, uplifting, and very entertaining. The cast is amazing as is everything about this production. For me it’s the best of Off Broadway and one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time. . . ” Wow!
And on her blog, SF arts writer Kathryn Vercillo raved: “Compelling. That is the word that keeps coming to mind as I think of Low Hanging Fruit, the play I saw last night at Z Below that tells the stories of so many people through the characters of just a few. . . . Everything worked perfectly together – from the characters to the space to the makeup to the music selections. It seems no detail went unnoticed in the making of this play.”
